Описание: We continue to get acquainted with Russian musical baroque. This test video shows a fragment of the comic opera by Yevstigney Fomin "The coachmen at the Horse stage-post" ("Ямщики на подставе") (1787) - a unique work in the world of music. It is completely based on Russian musical folklore and, as one musicologist wrote, has no analogues either in Russia or in Europe. The video shows the song of the coachman Timofey, who is unfairly sent to be recruited. On the screen you can see fragments of the original libretto of the 1788 opera and a portrait of its author - Nikolai Lvov. The opera is based on Russian songs from the collection of Nikolai Lvov and Johann Gottlieb Prach "Collection of Russian Folk Songs with Their Voices". The opera is dedicated to the trip of Empress Catherine the Great to the southern provinces of the Russian Empire from January to July 1787. According to literary scholar L.V. Kulakov's opera, unlike many works from "folk" life, touches upon the not entirely harmless issue of the unfair surrender of a coachman to the recruits, which is resolved, according to the conditions of the genre, quite happily.
