This weekend I took Mom to RI, where she was raised, for a family birthday party. We pulled into the driveway of the home where she lived throughout her childhood and eventually moved back in to take care of her own mother with Alzheimer’s. She lived in the home for several years once she retired, caring for her mother, until she, herself, started showing signs of dementia.
She didn’t recognize the house.
She did, however, recognize her sister who came to greet her, then within seconds the confusion set in about who she was.
Here’s another sweet ending with another realization that made us all smile big.
