This Xonar U7 came with a cool feature!

Описание: This is the Asus Xonar U7 sound card! An external soundcard everybody was talking about when it was launched in 2013. It has some hidden features which people were very fond of! We’re now 8 years onward and I was wondering, how good is it these days! And is this well loved feature still cool?

What about the components used?! This soundcard used the Cmedia CM6632A DSP. A processor that was also used in the Asus Xonar AE, a soundcard with excellent quality for a low price, and the Asus Strix Raid Pro, a great sound card, also with good components and an external volume knob!
What else is in this little plastic case? The DAC for the headphone output is the Cirrus Logic CS4398 and for the other outputs the CS4362 is used. Both are very standard dacs and are used in so many other products.
The ADC is the again Cirrus Logic CS5361, which is a capable adc, but nothing too special.
It has Asus Hypergrounding in order to eliminate EMI. Cool feature, but does it work?
So what is this mystery feature?! Well that is Dolby® Home Theater V4! But Anton, what is it! Dolby Home Theater v4 converts your music and other two-channel (stereo) entertainment into 5.1-channel surround sound, and 5.1-channel entertainment like movies into 7.1-channel sound. Now, Normally I’m not that big of a fan of these kinds of features, as it only adds a lot of reverb and then says it’s surround sound.
