Very beautiful, very traditional and very much a dual season resort, St Sorlin d’Arves within the Les Sybelles ski domain sits at an altitude of 1650m. The village comes fully self contained with shops, 26 restaurants, pharmacy, ski shops, ski schools, bank, supermarkets, bowling alley, Apres ski including a nightclub and much more.

If you are a keen cyclist then the famous Col de la Croix de Fer climb passes through the village itself as it ascends and drops back down into the Vaujany valley. Here in Sybelles you sit within the Maurienne Valley offering 800km of road cycling and no less than 13 of the famous Tour de France passes. This is a vibrant dual season resort full of life but not crazy and overcrowded in the winter and summer.

The hidden gem of the French Alps, unheard of by most and where the French have kept it to themselves until recently, welcome to the 310km Les Sybelles ski area, the 4th largest linked ski domain in the French Alps and 7th largest in Europe.

Here skiing can be found across 6 pretty villages, 4 of which enjoy altitudes of 1650 to 1750m. Thanks to the height of these resorts, coupled with all connections sitting above 2000m, along with many of its slopes enjoying North facing aspects, all make for snow sure domain something becoming more and more important.

With everything you could possibly want, the ski area is a cruisers paradise with access from one side of the domain to the other without the need for a black run, yet enjoys an abundance of off piste thanks to its terrain. It has long alpine runs, enjoys stunning views, is perfect for families and has that all important great snow just waiting. On the backside of St Sorlin, one of the villages it’s like skiing the back country of North America, no pylons for miles around.
