In II AD, the city, in its prime, was populated by 50,000 people. The city had public baths, a large forum, a temple dedicated to Jupiter, and an amphitheater capable of accommodating 13,000 to 15,000 spectators. It also had a city sewage system and many manufactured and workshops.
