DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav visits Amritsar streets at midnight under 'Operation Satark'

Описание: In a bid to intensify the fight against drugs and strengthen law and order across Punjab, DGP Gaurav Yadav reached the streets of Amritsar at midnight as part of ‘Operation Satark’. The Director General of Police personally inspected police checkpoints set up in the city, including key locations such as Golden Gate, Amritsar Railway Station, and Chehharta Police Station.

Speaking to the media, DGP Yadav stated that Operation Satark has been launched in view of the upcoming festivals to ensure public safety and curb any illegal activities. He mentioned that in the last one month, Punjab Police has made significant breakthroughs by arresting major drug traffickers.

The DGP also highlighted the success of the anti-drone systems deployed by the Punjab Police, which have been effective with the support of both the state and central governments. He appealed to the citizens of Punjab to cooperate in the war against drugs, emphasizing that public support is crucial to eradicate the drug menace from the roots.

As part of the enhanced surveillance efforts, DGP Yadav announced the installation of over 2,100 cameras along border areas to tighten the grip on drug trafficking routes.
