KOS brand Nature-Powered Organic Plant Protein sold at Walmart, Whole Foods, CVS, Walgreens, Target, and some other retailers has been found to contain PFOA, a type of nonstick forever chemical also used in Teflon manufacturing. I have mentioned before that plant-based protein powders also tend to contain various amounts of heavy metals . I find this very concerning. Personally, I probably get more than 100 g per day from a whey protein supplement.
So the best way to protect yourself is to look for a certificate of analysis and third-party testing when deciding on what product to buy.
