2:02 Soaking food decreases Potassium - Myth #1
Soaking high potassium foods decreases potassium. Sigh. FALSE. You need to double-boil the potatoes to make reduce potassium. Or in some cases, you could just use radishes or turnips.
3:40 No Room for more Foods when Cook – Myth #2
I can't include ANY .....you name it.... mushrooms, spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, etc... when I cook. A portion is name of the game for so many foods. There is often room for more food than you may think.
5:47 Salt Substitutes for Sodium replacement - Myth #3
Salt substitutes are a great idea for replacing salt. FALSE...mostly... If you don't have a potassium restriction we're not opposed to a little salt substitute. However, if you have a potassium restriction then we like to focus on whole foods.
7:10 Never use Salt when cook - Myth #4
I should never use salt when I cook. FALSE...mostly... Beans without salt are gross. There is often room for a little bit of salt. 75% of our salt intake comes from processed foods and eating out. If you eat mostly at home you have some room for salt. Otherwise, we love a little bit of celery seed or kelp seasoning for a "salty" flavor.

Vegan meat substitutes are okay because they are plant-based. FALSE. Super False. While they don't have animal proteins they are LOADED with things that we don't like (like canola oil and lots of sodium)

Soaking high potassium foods decreases potassium. No, False. I can’t include any high potassium foods, again False. Salt substitutes a great idea for replacing salt. If you don’t have a potassium restriction you could use them otherwise be super careful because they are very high in potassium. I should never use salt when I cook and again False. Mostly I think there’s room for some salt in-home cooking but you want to look at your overall diet. Vegan meat substitutes are okay as they are plant-based and again False. You really wanna work towards whole foods.
