Came out to find a number of pounds of mushrooms pushing off my cold weather shiitake logs today. Just the beginning of what will be a powerful first flush of the season. Expecting many 10s of pounds of fresh shiitakes to enjoy, dehydrate, sell, barter over the next week or two. It's a lot of work up front to start a mushroom yard, but the rewards are tremendous, and the sense of food security you get from a well done yard is quite something.
