茅ヶ崎海岸浜降祭は相模国(現在の神奈川県西部)の複数の神社が合同で茅ヶ崎海岸で行う神事です。起源は鶴嶺八幡宮が神輿を海岸で禊をさせたことに始まると伝えられています。その後、寒川神社も加わり、現在の形になりました。毎年7月最終月曜日の「海の日」に開催され、早朝に多くの神輿が海岸に集まり、海に入る様子が特徴的であるとの事です。

Chigasaki Coast Hamaori Festival is a Shinto ritual held jointly by multiple shrines in Sagami Province (present-day western Kanagawa Prefecture) at Chigasaki Coast. It is said to have originated when Tsurumine Hachimangu Shrine first conducted a purification ritual for its portable shrine (Mikoshi) at the beach. Later, Samukawa Shrine also joined, and the festival took its current form. It is held annually on the last Monday of July, "Marine Day", with many portable shrines gathering on the beach at dawn and entering the sea, which is a distinctive feature of the event.
