compensation visits, and an increase in lower-rate Medicare visits. Total patient visits increased 19.9% to 1,091,329 for the 2021 Third Quarter from 910,155 for the 2020 Third Quarter. Net patient revenue is based on established billing rates less allowances for patients covered by contractual programs and workers’ compensation. Net patient revenue is
determined after contractual and other adjustments relating to patient discounts from certain payors. Payments received under contractual programs and workers’ compensation are based on predetermined rates and are generally less than the established billing rates.
