Hello guys and Welcome to another video of Gus Random Reviews.

In this video I will reviewing the Melissa & Doug Wooden Take-Along Tabletop Railroad toy.

This toy consists of having 17-pieces which is part of a railroad play set with a wooden storage case that unfolds to create playing surface with built-in tracks. It includes 4 wooden vehicles with plastic wheels: These are 3 train cars and a park ranger vehicle. It also comes with a set up bridge which is placed in a flat surface, a mountain tunnel with a gondola that slides across the top, buildings with doable side printing, some trees, animals like a deer and ducks, and railroad crossing signs. Inside, there is plenty of room to store all play pieces with also having a convenient carrying handle.

What makes this toy great is how well it was designed to have all elements of a train adventure. Navigating the train cars through the station and into the forest while going through a tunnel that simulates a gondola that slides across a mountain. Also, not to forget, passing through a bridge with water scenery and coming across forest animals and finally making a stop to a nearby house.

The quality of the wood is good, and all pieces are well made. The wood is thick and sturdy, and clasps and hinges feel strong and durable. The pieces are compact, and you don’t get the feeling of having everything cramped together while all pieces are set on the case. In addition, each piece has a nice finish and paint job, the buildings and the decor are painted on both sides and even without decorations it is fun to use the train tracks by itself. I also like that you can use other trains and even store additional within the case.

Nevertheless, with some great benefits, there are areas of improvement to consider. For starters, wished it had compartments inside the case for the pieces so that they are not loose and making noise. Second, the size and weight of the case can be a problem for young children as they try carry from once place to another. It is more likely to be dropped and damaged. Third, if you are using other trains, like motorize ones, you will get minimal movement due to the finish surfaced, however you can still get the trains to move and work. Finally, as time will tell, pieces will start to have wear and tear, special on the gondola from sliding back and forth.

To conclude, this toy can tailor to the likes of anyone, from small children to adults who love trains. My son love this toy and I like how convenient and easy is for travel. From Dr. office visits, family visits and long car rides. Nice quality & solid.
