It is damn near IMPOSSIBLE to figure out all these bass parts strictly from listening to the album. I'm eternally grateful that this video was uploaded to youtube by ‪@blenfz‬

To figure out the parts, I primarily referenced the video of the isolated drum and bass parts, and if I couldn't figure something out, I referenced the song on the album and put something together that I thought sounded best. That being said, let me know if you have a different interpretation/correction.

The bass is a 1970s Ibanez Silver Series, tuning is DADG

SONG NOTES -

I feel like I say this every time I upload a cover but this may legitimately be my favorite Glassjaw song to play on bass. It's a great melodic line all throughout the song. It's complex enough but still makes sense. Also of course I have to comment on the bridge: incredible. Not only is the "race" part of it so fun, but the hemiola bass part afterward with the drums is undeniably heavy.

I'm noticing now that I missed the harmonic going into the chorus, but oh well. There's a video of Justin Beck covering this from not too long ago so the parts are pretty clear. Just good stuff and a great one to learn.
