Rolls-Royce, Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam, and Austrian engine manufacturer Rotax have reached an important milestone that will support their ambition to decarbonise aviation. After several successful ground tests, a unique hybrid-electric demonstrator aircraft took to the skies for the first time, powered by the world's first integrated parallel hybrid propulsion system, on 21 December 2021.
