Want to invite birdlife into your garden? There are a few simple things you can do to "bird-scape" a space, making it safe and healthy for the local flock.
#1: Plant native trees and shrubs as long-term food sources for New Zealand's precious native birds.
#2: Control predators by setting traps and bait stations. Keep those cats under control too!
#3: Leave piles of leaf litter & mulch to create habitat for insects - or set up a Bug & Bee Hut
#4: Provide a clean, safe water source for birds
When natural food is scarce, feeding birds can be useful. Be sure to keep feeders clean and never feed mouldy fruit or bread.
