A summer vacation trip on the shores of Lake Erie opened the door to railfanning in Vermilion, Ohio- which is one very hospitable town for railfans! The action is on the Water Level Route... on Norfolk Southern. Not everything New York Central went to CSX in the Conrail split!
Highlights include a meet on a bridge over the Vermilion River, the Nickel Plate Heritage Unit, NS 8100 (coal on the Checklist!), an Amtrak train making track speed at 79mph, coal drags, manifests, auto racks, and intermodals. 10 trains total!
