Champlin Park wasn't sure about the learning curve its incoming freshmen would encounter, but one of them, Carly Gilk, leads the team in kills. Another freshman, Reese Axness, makes for a sensational setting tandem with Sara Moberg. A pair of statement wins to begin the season offered an affirmative assessment of Champlin Park's potential.
Centennial's youth movement is just as promising with a 6'2" 8th grade middle hitter in Elena Hoecke. The Cougars also have three players with over 20 aces entering this game, so keep an eye on that serve!
