Description
On this festival of colours- Holi , make Colourful Cheese Mathri. This mathri is easy to make, beautiful at sight and delicious in taste.
Ingredients
1. All Purpose/ Flour Maida 2 cups/250 gm
2. Beetroot juice
3. Spinach/ Palak paste
4. Cheese cubes 2
5. Salt 1/2 tsp+ 1 pinch
6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
7. Clarified butter/ ghee 1/4 tsp
8. Oil for frying
Method
1. Grate cheese.
2. Take all-purpose flour/ maida, add salt, clarified butter to it and mix, add grated cheese and mix well.
3. Divide this all-purpose flour into 4 equal portions.
4. In 1st portion add water gradually and knead a tight dough. The white dough is ready, keep it aside.
5. In 2 nd portion add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, mix well, add water and knead a tight dough. The yellow dough is ready. Keep it aside.
6. In the 3rd portion add spinach / Palak paste & knead a tight dough. The green dough is ready. Keep it aside.
7. In the 4th portion add beetroot juice and knead a tight dough. The red dough is ready.
8. Now cover all the four kneaded doughs and give them rest for at least 15-20 minutes.
9. Now take the white dough, massage it, divide it into two parts and roll each part into a thin chapati. Cut the chapati into thin strips.
10. Fry these strips in medium hot oil on low flame till light golden colour.
11. Likewise make strips of yellow, green and red dough and fry them in medium hot oil on low flame.
All four colours Mathri are ready, mix them.
