Motorcycle Trip to South America: The Shocking Side of Peru – The First Days!

Описание: In this episode, we set off from Ecuador, venturing south toward the Peruvian border. Though the distance to the border was only 75 km, the mostly unpaved roads made the journey far more challenging, stretching our ride to nearly two hours. Once in Peru, we navigated the formalities of temporary customs paperwork—and with that, our adventure in a new country had officially begun!

The first leg of our journey took us through the breathtaking Andean mountains. However, by the second day, heavy rain and dense fog made the ride increasingly difficult. Seeking better conditions, we decided to descend to the Pacific coast and follow the legendary Panamericana Highway southward—partly out of necessity, as my motorcycle’s rear tire was wearing thin.

While the Panamericana offered speed and comfort, by the third day, we found the long stretches of road uninspiring. A glance to our left revealed towering, majestic mountains in the distance, calling us back to the highlands. Without hesitation, we turned toward them, following the winding path along the Santa River. The landscapes became ever more dramatic as we climbed higher into the Andes, until we reached a dead end—a long-forgotten, crumbling bridge, missing planks and all, making it impossible to cross.
