So I wanted to share a recent video I had posted on IG a few days ago-it's a little lo-fi sound recording wise= but I thought the explanation was good, so wanted to share it as is.

2 totally different Ways to Approach Fingering for the Jazz Melodic Minor Scale on Bass!
This is the ascending form of the Melodic Minor-In jazz improv, the ascending version is also played the same descending, so use this form in both directions.
IMPORTANT! Here are the Notes we use to play C Jazz Melodic Minor: C D Eb F G A B C.
Note-it resembles a Dorian Mode with a major 7th! :)
This is ALSO the form upon which all the cool MODES of the Melodic Minor are based upon. Let me know if you want to see more on this! In CLASSICAL harmony, the descending version the Melodic Minor is different ( -basically is a natural minor or aeolian in the descending. We're not using that here!)
