The steampunk lamp is an interesting item that is both old and new. The first thing anyone notices about the steampunk lamp is that it has a unique design. Unlike traditional lamps, this one has a shape of a large bulb at the top with metal tubing coming down from it. The shade at the bottom of this metal tubing comes in different shapes and sizes depending on the design preference of the buyer. This style of lamp is perfect for someone who wants to add something personal to their room because they can mix and match shades or just buy one to suit their tastes. The steampunk lamp was created as an offshoot, or subgenre, of science fiction called "alternative history." In alternative history stories set in the Victorian era, there are often steam-powered machines that have been created by people who have utilized steam power without understanding its full potential (often seen as scientists who were ahead of their time).
