What is a Technical Designer in the Fashion Industry & Why are they Important?

In today's video we'll be discussing what technical designers do (also called tech design) and why they are critically important in any fashion company.

Technical designers are often misunderstood and not credited for the important role they play in the fashion industry. A good technical designer is the liason between the idea and the actual. As we all know, a great product is only as great if it's execution is also well done. Technical designers are key in ensuring that the designer's vision is expressed, that the garment is well made from inside to out and that the fit is perfect and consistent with other styles within that brand.
