Grown by one, spurned by another,
The flowers caught betwixt.
As the kitchen trashcan topples, errant darkness intermixed.
The Knight, they say, has many squires
And many a piece in play,
Of flowers born of love and grief, the last of them astray.
There's a little part of him
In every part of town:
A gardener's yearning, sobbing smile — in darkness realized now.
Who's to say the squire of dark
And prince are not alike?
Their fond regard a feint, or something genuine and bright?
Yet only one was made with LOVE —
Thus stretches the ravine.
The air crackles with freedom like the static on a screen.
