Here is the view point of an on-site recovery volunteer, at the on site trails for the Bantam Heritage Jeep Festival. The event was held at Coopers Lake Family Campground and event grounds, near Butler PA, on Father's Day weekend 2025.
This is just a collection of clips from my perspective, as I roamed around the trails and talked to people as we waited. This year was pretty sloppy, and it only got worse as the weekend progressed. The trails have a hard base but the top becomes pretty loose sticky mud when wet. We stayed busy pulling line and giving words of encouragement. The participants had to deal with deep ruts, slick rocks and roots, and the biggest gate keeper of Saturday afternoon, the staging area.
I really enjoy these types of events, helping new commers and talking with friends from the offroad community. Being able to teach and help out, in person, while the problem is ongoing, seems to be a good way to spend my free time. As homage to the ones that came before me, the ones that pointed me in the right directions, helped me out when I was stuck or broke, and encouraged me, I try to pass the wisdom, tips and tricks on.
There are a few clips from the Killdoo Quarry trails when myself and a few others including Rob, and Dave (backhoe operator) to fix a section of one of the black trails there that had been washed out by heavy rains the previous week.
I would like to thank Rob "Daddy Jeep" Morgan for inviting me out to help out with recoveries. (and for the bangin' burgers!)
This trip was made possible in part by: Pride Custom Concrete, T&K Decks, Carmen Chrysler Jeep Dodge, and D'Antonio Automotive.
