As Pakistani forces fight against extremist militant groups like the Taliban, who want to suppress women’s rights to education and sports, some members of Pakistan’s civil society are trying to make sure that such extremist elements do not become the face of their country. Glasgow Women on Wheels Cycle Festival is a festival throughout September 2021 for all women & non-binary people. It is programmed in partnership between Bike for Good and Scottish Cycling and part-funded by Glasgow Life to celebrate two years until Glasgow hosts the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
