Born and raised in Brooklyn, McGrath's talent was evident from a young age. He attended Regis High School in Manhattan and later studied at Harvard University, where his comedy writing journey began. His big break came in 1991 when he joined the prestigious writer's room at SNL, working alongside comedy legends like Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider. McGrath's writing credits include 24 SNL episodes, earning him an Emmy nomination in 1992.
After SNL, McGrath's career soared as he wrote for 50 episodes of 'The Simpsons' from 1992 to 1994, creating timeless classics like 'The Devil and Homer Simpson' and 'Bart of Darkness'. He also produced 24 episodes of the show, winning an Emmy in 1997 for Outstanding Animated Program.
McGrath's talent extended to 'King of the Hill', where he wrote 11 episodes and produced 28 more from 2003 to 2009. His contributions to the show's success are immeasurable.
