STORYLINE:
Exiled monks of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism held prayers on the terrace of the Tsuglakhang temple in Dharamshala on Wednesday to usher in the Tibetan new year.
They beat cymbals and drums, blew horns and donned yellow ceremonial hats as they chanted prayers in front of two large sculptures.
Dharamshala is the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile in India and home to Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
