Brand new 38-unit shelter pods debuted in Multnomah County at shelter village in SE Portland

Описание: LIT Homes is debuting brand new tiny homes pods that are set to go in a 38-unit shelter in Southeast Portland, called the Harrison Community Village, later this year.

According to a spokesperson with Multnomah County, the 38 units will serve up to 45 adults at a time.

In addition to the sleeping units, the village is also expected to have office spaces for staff, as well as bathrooms and showers, kitchenette amenities, and laundry facilities.

"It comes flat-packed or volumetric, and we'll be delivering them to the site, volumetric, for the project that's in Portland," Marge Cafarelli, President of LIT Homes, told KATU News. "The original, the second generation product that you see in the city of Portland didn't meet a lot of building codes in the state of California, or actually in, I'm sure, Oregon, and we wanted to design something that would meet Appendix P of the California Building Codes, so those are the emergency building codes, and so that's what we designed with our G-1000 series."

Most of the construction at Harrison Community Village is expected to be complete by the end of the year, with people moving in by early 2026.
