Tino Anjorin is another promising youngster who will be staying at Chelsea on deadline day, reports Liam Twomey. Several clubs in the top half of the Championship and in Europe had expressed serious interest in taking Anjorin on loan this month, but he was always inclined to stay and fight for first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

And positive talks with new Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel this week reinforced Anjorin’s belief that his development will be best served by training with the first team at Cobham for the rest of the season. Billy Gilmour will also be remaining at Chelsea rather than moving away on loan for the rest of the season.

Gilmour has been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s opening two squads since he was appointed to succeed Lampard — but Chelsea face a busy run of fixtures as they continue to compete across three competitions and that may result in increased opportunities for the Scottish midfielder. - Ornstein
