Presented by Writers Without Borders
"Writers Without Borders" features writers from around the world whose fiction, drama, poetry, memoir, journalism, and performance art demand an international — and, what's more, a globally minded — readership and response. Support for Writers without Borders comes from the Office of the Provost, supplemented by a generous start-up grant from Seth Ginns (C'00).
Christian Bök is the author of Crystallography (1994, Coach House Press), a pataphysical encyclopedia nominated for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, and Eunoia (2001, Coach House Books), a bestselling work of experimental literature and winner of the Griffin Prize for Poetic Excellence. Bok has created artificial languages for two television shows: Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict and Peter Benchley's Amazon. Bok is currently a Professor of English at the University of Calgary.
Christian Bök's reading is followed by discussion with students Astrid Lorange, Danny Snelson, Henry Steinberg, and curator Kaegan Sparks. More about these guests are available at our website linked below.
