In this talk, Dr. Ed Boyden shares his visionary work at MIT on decoding and reengineering the brain: one molecule, one millisecond, and one micron at a time. A pioneer of optogenetics and expansion microscopy, Boyden reveals the evolving toolkit that allows scientists to control neurons with light, image electrical activity across whole brains, and physically expand brain tissue for nanoscale resolution.
