This interactive exhibit at teamLab turns walking into a game of balance and strategy.
The floor looks like flowing digital water, but scattered across it are soft, raised stepping spots that feel almost like memory foam. To make it across the room, you have to carefully step from one “safe” spot to another — miss one, and it looks like you’re stepping into the water below.
As people move, the projected water ripples and reacts in real time, making the whole space feel alive. It’s part obstacle course, part art installation, and completely immersive.
In this video you’ll see:
• What the soft stepping spots feel like
• The water visuals reacting to every step
• People trying to balance their way across
• How the floor changes as more people move
• Why this is one of the most playful exhibits at teamLab
It’s fun, slightly challenging, and one of those experiences that makes you feel like a kid again — inside a futuristic art world.
If you’re visiting Tokyo and want an art experience you can actually play in, this is a must.
