With two grandmas named Viola (!) there was never any doubt what Emily Foden would call her hand-dyed yarn business.
Living in southwest Ontario, in an old general store dyeing her very beautiful yarns whose colours are intensely inspired by nature, it's an honour to show you a little peek into Emily's world.
Emily has been a long time friend of Loop collaborating with us on her first commissioned colour when going back to dyeing, creating 'Speckled Mist' for our 10th anniversary 5 years ago. It's a dreamy colour that is part of the deliveries we receive a few times a year from Emily - we're so proud that we are one of the two shops that she stocks with her beauty and each time a box arrives from her with her drawings on the box it is like Christmas all over again.
Her book launch at Loop for 'Knits About Winter', possibly my favourite knitting book ever, was also a total honour and joy for us.
Enjoy her story - it's a lovely one.
