Max Reger. (Covid-19) Weihnachten

Описание: Šiandien, gruodžio 17 d., turėjau groti adventinį koncertą Vilniaus Katedroje. Štai jis - be plojimų, be juntamo klausytojų (ir atlikėjui labai reikalingo) reagavimo į muziką, bet užtai su galimybe matyti iš bet kurio pasaulio kampelio! Toks vat nedidelis teigiamas pandemijos aspektas 🙂

Programos pagrindinis kūrinys - Max Reger "Weihnachten" ("Kalėdos") skamba labai simboliškai. Regeris kūrė jį 1915-1916 m., kai pasaulį degino karas. Tamsu, niūru ir mirtis už kampo - kokios dar Kalėdos? Aplinkui siautėja marodieriai, kuriems gyvybė neverta nieko, svarbu tik auksas ir sotus pilvas. Priešas visada šalia, jis visur, tikras, nors kartais nematomas. Niekuo dėti žmonės žūsta, praranda viską, ką turi brangiausio, Kalėdas pasitinka apkasuose, o kažkas tuo metu puotauja ir švenčia. Nes tai - karas.
Visa tai keistai panašu į dabartinę situaciją Lietuvoje, kuri kol kas tik blogėja, bet vis dar yra atsisakančių tai suvokti. Kaip ir kare, telieka ne ieškoti kaltų, ne demonstruoti abejingumą, ne eikvoti savo energiją ten, kur nieko neįmanoma pakeisti, o tiesiog visais įmanomais būdais saugoti save ir savus. Švęsti Kalėdas tyliai, savo namų apkasuose, be dovanų, be šventinės silkės, bet su GYVAIS ir SVEIKAIS mylimaisiais.

Nes net iš juodžiausios tamsos galiausiai ataidės šviesi melodija ir pasaulis po truputį pradės atgauti spalvas. To linkiu sau ir visiems.

Today, on December 17., I had to play an Advent concert at Vilnius Cathedral. Here it is - without applause, without the audible response of the listeners to the music, but with the possibility to see it from any corner of the world! Such a small positive aspect of a pandemic 🙂
The main piece of the program - Max Reger's "Weihnachten" ("Christmas") - sounds very symbolic. Reger created it in 1915-1916, when the world was burned by the WW1. Darkness, gloom and death are just around the corner. Marauders are raging around, for whom life is worth nothing, only gold and full bellies are important. The enemy is always nearby, he is everywhere, real, though sometimes invisible. People are dying and losing everything they have, celebrating Christmas in the trenches - but someone at the same time is still feasting. Because it's the war.
All this is strangely similar to the current situation in Lithuania, which is only getting worse so far, but there are still those who refuse to realize it. As in a war, all that remains is not to look for guilt, not to show indifference, not to waste one's energy where nothing can be changed, but simply to protect oneself and the beloved ones in every possible way. To celebrate Christmas quietly, in the trenches of our home, without gifts, without festive dishes, but with beloved people ALIVE and HEALTHY.
Because even from the darkest darkness, a bright melody will eventually emerge and the world will gradually begin to regain its colours. I'd like to wish that for myself and everyone!
