One of a series of "New Horizons" films released in the 1960s by Pan Am Airlines, this 1960 travelogue takes the viewer on a tour of India. The film is narrated by Ed Stokes and was produced by Movietonews. It showcases the magnificent temples and mosques throughout the country as well as the culture and artwork, with a look at Kolkata / Calcutta, Mumbai / Bombay, Delhi, Agra and other cities. The film concludes by asking the viewer to book a trip to India through Pan American Airlines.

(0:54) The Taj Mahal in Agra, India, the famous Islamic ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra, commissioned in 1632. At (1:20) the Qutb Minar in Delhi, India, a minaret and "victory tower" that forms part of the Qutb complex, which lies at the site of Delhi’s oldest fortified city, Lal Kot, founded by the Tomar Rajputs. (1:30) Title card & credits: “Pan Am presents New Horizons: India” featuring an illustration of the Taj Mahal. At (1:56) a Pan American 707 jet airplane lands on a runway and passengers disembark, (2:19). Indian urban city scenes including Kolkata (Calcutta), Mumbai (Bombay), and Delhi, (3:43) the Jama Masjid mosque in Delhi. At (4:00) people boating inside and sitting along the shores of the Ganges river, bathing and meditating. At (4:44) Indian elephants bathing in the Ganges and being used to build dams and carry tourists. At (5:42) Amber Fort (or Amer Fort) in Amer, India. At (5:56) Amber Fort interior (including the Sheesh Mahal, or Hall of Mirrors/Mirror Palace). At (6:10) Indian craftsmen, including woodworkers, potters, and metalworkers. At (7:12) a merchant is selling a blue sari to an elderly tourist couple, and close-ups of saris of various colors. At (7:59) Indian women in saris performing a dance. At (8:35) an audience watches as Indian children march in formation prior to a Bengal Lancers military drill, performance, and tent pegging contest in Delhi.
Troops of (10:07) the Indian military marches in formation. At (10:40) temples and stone carvings in Khajuraho, India. At (10:58) the Hawa Mahal (or Palace of the Breeze) in Jaipur, followed at (11:12) by the Panch Mahal, King’s Gate, and Tomb of Salim Chishti in Jama Mosque (Jama Masjid) in Fatehpur Sikri, India. At (11:42) Agra Fort in Agra, India, a historical fort in the city of Agra in India, built during 1565-1573 for Mughal Emperor Akbar. At (12:03) the Taj Mahal - tourists visiting, and close-ups of the carved artwork. Finally at (12:54) title cards: “The End” and “Call . . . . Your Travel Agent or Pan American”.
