Описание: In 1990, young Amitabh Gupta armed with a B. Tech degree from the prestigious IIT, Kanpur, could have gone places literally. Instead he stayed home to successfully clear the Civil Sevice exam, opting
for rough and tumble of the Indian Police Service in 1992. Mr. Gupta began his career as probationer at Amaravati. He then took charge of Naxalite and filled with crime areas like Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Osmanabaad and Parbhani till 2003. He enjoyed the experience as it was valuable and
challenging early on his police career. After that till date he is posted in Mumbai at various postings. Now in the first time in his career Mr. Amitabh Gupta is on non-police posting, as Controller of Legal Metrology Maharashtra.
In an exclusive interview with India Unbound Global Magazine, Mr. Gupta is speaking about his career choice, initial postings at Naxal prone areas, handling of high profile cases and job satisfaction is getting through his work as IPS. Excerpts:
