No mixer tart dough (shortbread dough)

Hello, My Name is Christine .I am a Professional Baker and owner of Cookies By The Dozen in Charlotte NC. Today, I am showing how to make a shortbread tart crust.
Here are the Ingredients
2c Flour, all purpose, unbleached
1/2 c powdered sugar
2 sticks of unsalted butter (1 cup)
1t vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
In a large bowl combine flour and powdered sugar, Break in the butter and add vanilla, Work the dough around the bowl squeezing and pressing the dough. When the dough in smooth and homogeneous it is ready to use.
I am using a removable bottom tart pan as those work best.Bake your unfilled tart as is at 375 until golden brown. You will smell it !
The dough can also be used for short bread cookies. You can roll it out and we did for pie crust in an earlier video . Refrigerate the rolled out dough and cut it. Bake on 350 instead of 375 or they will will burn.
You can fill your tart shell with just about anything! Any kind of pie filling will work but here are a few favorites.
