Reading & Northern 425: Rambling Through the Fall Colors - Fall Foliage Autumn Leaf Special 2019

Описание: The Reading & Northern Railroad runs 4 series of Steam powered Fall Foliage/Autumn Leaf Excursions every year. Their Pride & Joy, Locomotive #425 made the long haul from Reading Outer Station, to Jim Thorpe, PA, running over Ex-Reading and Central Railroad of New Jersey Lines. The small 4-6-2 is the loudest steam locomotive in the USA, with her deafening stack talk overpowering the sound of the already loud whistle. This weekend, she wore a custom built 8-Inch R&N 3 Chime, which sounded almost like a Crosby 3 Chime and a Southern 3 Chime at the same time. With plenty of wheelslips, locations we've never filmed at, and a slick new coat of fresh blue paint, sit back, relax, and enjoy the video!

Reading & Northern #425 is a 4-6-2 Pacific Type Steam Locomotive Built by the Baldwin Locomotive works in 1928 for the Gulf, Mobile & Northern Railroad. She is the first of two G-1 Type locomotives for the GM&N (425 and later scrapped 426). When the locomotives went to the GM&O, they became 580 (425), and 582 (426). 425 traveled to many other railroads, such as the Louisiana & Eastern, Valley Forge Scenic Railway, Wilmington & Western, and the Blue Mountain & Reading, now the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern. In 1992, 425 was painted in her famous Blue Paint Scheme in honor of the Reading Crusader. In 2011 425 was given roller bearings by the Strasburg Railroad, and painted in 2014 to her current blue.
