One of the biggest advantages modern K-pop idols have, over previous generations, is advanced social media. Many idols, such as BLACKPINK, use SNS (e.g. Instagram) to increase their individual member brand awareness to a global market. Curiously, some major groups like TWICE & BTS are not allowed to have individual Instagram accounts due to their company's strict policies. While this may anger some fans, let me show you why letting your favorite idols go free on social media may not be in their best interest.
