On Sunday 12th March 2023 from 11am to 1pm the Birdman Rally was full of splashes, spills and thrills as everyday Melburnian's dressed to impress and flap to fly - or fall, all in the name of charity. The Birdman Rally is a competition for home-made gliders, hang gliders and human-powered aircraft. The first Moomba Birdman Rally was held in 1976 and made a comeback in 2004 after a 6 year break. Melburnians’ beloved Moomba Parade returns with larger-than-life floats, dance troupes, community performance groups and a special appearance from our Moomba Monarchs ! Ah the Moomba Parade! Since 1955, this spectacular parade has charmed Melburnians with its fantastical floats, giant puppets, dance troupes and bustling community groups.
