CWG 2026: Gulveer Singh Becomes First Indian to Win 10,000m Medal | Drishti HCS

Gulveer Singh clocked 27:49.78 to finish second, while Australia’s Ky Robinson won Gold with 27:48.93. David Mullarkey of the Isle of Man secured Bronze with 27:50.28.

The Indian long-distance runner produced a strong final lap to move into the silver-medal position. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Gulveer Singh on the historic achievement.

Gulveer hails from Sirsa village in Aligarh district, Uttar Pradesh, and serves as a Naib Subedar in the Grenadiers Regiment of the Indian Army. He also holds Indian national records in the 3,000m, 5,000m and 10,000m.
