How can I stay godly in an ungodly world?
How can I remain faithful when I am surrounded by ungodly systems, ungodly ideologies, and ungodly philosophies?
Jude 17-22 gives us God’s answer.
First, we must remember.
Remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember the warnings delivered through the apostles.
Remember the truths proclaimed by the prophets. We must anchor ourselves in what He has spoken.
Second, we must remain.
Remain in the apostolic faith, the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
Remain in Spirit-filled prayer, praying in the Holy Spirit, not in the flesh.
Remain in the love of God, abiding in Him through obedience, devotion, and perseverance.
And finally, while we wait for the mercy of Christ at His return, we must Rescue those who waver.
We show mercy to the doubting.
We reach out to the struggling.
This is how we stay godly in an ungodly world:
Remember the Word.
Remain in the faith.
Rescue the wavering.
