BMW & MINI Fault Code 28DE00 – BMW B37 & B47 Diesel Engines
In this video, I show how to properly diagnose and fix the dreaded exhaust back pressure sensor fault on a 2016 MINI Cooper SD without replacing the exhaust manifold, sensor, or pipe.
💥 The official BMW/MINI dealer fix involves:
New exhaust manifold 💸
New stainless banjo bolt
New pressure pipe
New sensor
👉 All this can cost around £2,000 in parts and labour!
But here's the truth:
The real issue is a blocked exhaust pressure pipe, not the sensor itself.

Remove and clean the soot-clogged pipe
Use solvent and wire to restore flow
