These YT09 Omnicities (SP40041-44) transferred to Fulwell from Hounslow garage a couple days ago due to electrics having charger problems. SP40043 has already gone back home however 41, 42 and 44 are still here. SP40042 was the first YT09 to do the 681/281 since May and I thought I'd visual it. It's best to do the 281 on a schoolday due to the 681 afternoon duties going onto the 281 so more chance of an SP doing it.
The journey took 1 hour and 36 minutes which is quite average. There were big delays at the Surbiton area due to roadworks and that made my journey even worse due to these seats being rock hard, hence 1 hour and 35 minutes on them isn't pleasant. These buses are heading off soon when the H32 goes to Abellio and hybrids come on the 71.
Anyway, enjoy route 281, a nice sunset visual through the busy streets of Hounslow, Twickenham, Teddington, Kingston and Surbiton.
