The Metropolitan Police Special Escort Group (SEG) are known for escorting VIPs around London. However, on this day, they became VIPs themselves! This RAF C-17 Globemaster callsign "Ascot 6899" was assigned an urgent mission to airlift their motorcycles and cars from the G7 Summit in Cornwall back to RAF Northolt in London, in time for taskings to do with President Biden meeting The Queen at Windsor. By road, this long 260+ mile journey would have taken 4.5 hours, the C-17 done it in just 43 minutes.
As you can tell, this particular landing was on the low and blustery side causing some folk to temporarily lose their hats! :-)
