Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres on Tuesday (12/3) addressed the Knesset in Jerusalem, on the eve of an anti-terrorism summit in Egypt, aimed partly at the future of the Middle East peace process. Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu praised the US sponsored conference to be held Wednesday at the Red Sea Resort town of Sharam al Sheikh, and expressed hope that it leads to concrete progress in the future. Meanwhile, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat departed on Tuesday
afternoon for the unprecedented international conference.
