We maken op deze Koningsdag een fietsritrit door het centrum van Rotterdam en rijden en wandelen langs verschillende locaties waar in de meeste gevallen de vrijmarkt wordt gehouden, de drukte is enorm dit jaar en deze dag (ook vanwege het mooie weer natuurlijk) en de mensen genieten zichtbaar van deze meest populaire nationale feestdag van het jaar.

Op Koningsdag wordt er in heel Nederland traditioneel o.a. de vrijmarkt gehouden
en ook veel muziek gemaakt op de straten en op pleinen en hapjes, snacks en
andere versnaperingen verkocht en dat alles zonder vergunningen, iets wat op
andere dagen niet is toegestaan en dat maakt deze Koningsdag (de verjaardag van
de Koning) heel geliefd bij de bevolking van Nederland. Op de vrijmarkt kunnen
particulieren hun overbodige spulletjes verkopen (of ruilen). Dat mag op speciaal daar
voor aangewezen straten, lanen of pleinen. (maar ook wel voor hun eigen deur).

On this King's Day we will make a bike ride through the center of Rotterdam and ride and walk along various locations where in most cases the free market is held, the crowds are enormous this year and this day (also because of the nice weather of course) and people are visibly enjoying this most popular national holiday of the year.

On King's Day, the free market is traditionally held throughout the Netherlands
and also made a lot of music on the streets and squares and snacks, snacks and
sold other refreshments and all without permits, something on
other days is not allowed and that makes this King's Day (the birthday of
de King) very popular with the people of the Netherlands. On the free market
private individuals sell (or exchange) their unnecessary items. That is allowed on special there
for designated streets, avenues or squares. (but also for their own door).

** To clarify for people from abroad, all the orange that is seen on this day has to do with the name of the Dutch Royal Family, which is Orange (color), the name of our King is 'Willem Alexander van Oranje'.
