Making a brown lentil and vegetable pie - hearty vegetarian alternative filling for pies

Hi all
We decided to make a lovely vegetarian pie today that is filled with hearty brown lentils and mushroom, so good it makes you forget you not eating meat!
Ingredients
1/2 cup biryani dhal/brown lentils
1/3 cup oil
1 med onion, sliced fine
2 med tomatoes, grated
2 tbs tomato puree
1 carrot, quartered and sliced
200g mushrooms (use to be 250g)
1 tbs Mrs Balls Chutney
1 tsp mixed masala
1/2 tsp dhania jeera powder
1/2 tsp hurdee (tumeric)
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp pure chillie powder
1 tsp vegetable stock powder
sprinkle of mixed herbs
grind of black pepper
1 tsp rough salt, adjust to taste
1 tsp crushed ginger and garlic
1 tbs soy sauce
Serve with green salad or chips.
