the visuals of the commercial are of the various options that are part of the Grand Slam Breakfast, including pancakes (with syrup and butter), scrambled eggs, cereal, fruit, milk, juice and an omelette. Sausage and bacon are not features, but they were surely options not taken.
Denny's originally opened as a coffee shop under the name Danny's Donuts in Lakewood, California, Denny's was known for always being open and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner 24 hours a day. Denny's started franchising in 1963.
This commercial was recorded on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 on the History Channel during rerun episode of the History Channel show Shockwave. It was recorded just after midnight... and yes, Denny's was still open at that hour.
