RFID Inventory Management System | RFID Inventory Management I RFID #Inventory Tracking | #RFID vs #Barcode
#Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology used to manage the inventory of a business or warehouse. RFID systems can easily manage sizes, shapes, weights, prices, and quantity of products.
RFID is a method of data collection that involves automatically identifying objects through low-power radio waves. Data is sent and received with a system consisting of RFID tags, an antenna, an RFID reader, and a transceiver.
Barcodes represented data by varying the widths and spacings of parallel lines and can be scanned by special optical scanners, called barcode readers, of which there are several types. A mobile device with an inbuilt camera, such as a smartphone, can function as the latter type of 2D barcode reader using specialized application software.
In the Barcode inventory management system, you have to scan products one by one. Though it seems time-consuming compared to RFID sometimes it's better than RFID according to business type, size, activity, and Cost.
Advantages of RFID :
Automated data collection.
Reduces human effort. RFID needs less time and manpower and reduces your employee cost and errors.
For quick and automated processing data increases your business efficiency.

Disadvantages of RFID :
Metal and liquid can impact signals. For this circumstance, RFID is not a better system for you. Rather, you can use barcodes or QR codes for managing your inventory.
Sometimes products are missing due to RFID frequencies ranges. If the employees work carefully in the barcode system is more accurate.
RFID is 10 X more expensive than a barcode. So, it's a better option for small and medium-sized enterprises.
RFID implementation is more difficult than a barcode management system.
Which is better? RFID or Barcode.
It differs from business to business according to business type, size, activity, and ability.
RFID is better for big enterprises which have vast inventory activities. For small and medium-sized enterprises with simple inventory activities, the barcode system is better.
If you were unable to decide which one is better for your business. Take help from an inventory management expert.
